Lamps
We start with a branch of timber and then uncover the beauty of the wood beneath. The wood is subject to multiple shaping processes until it is completed and what these are depends on what the wood itself suggests.
Initially we might use a chainsaw to get the rough shape, then band-saws, axes, draw knives and spoke-shaves. So we use very modern tools to some that are several hundred years old!
Once we have a rough shape that we are happy that emphasises the good points of the wood we even and smooth out the rougher sections and dry and treat the timber if necessary to ensure that it is stable.
Then comes the sanding process both manually and with machines (if necessary) using grades of paper from 60 grit (rough) to 1200 grit (very fine).
The surfaces are then sealed waxed and polished with natural products that try and bring out the best colours and depth of the wood.

Our lamps are suitable for table, desk or bedside use. They are supplied with a plug and in-line switch as well as a switch on the lamp holder itself. They are therefore easy to use in difficult to reach areas such as bedside tables or those dark corners.
Eucalyptus lamp works with natural daylight too. Here it is pictured with sunlight streaming through a New Forest window. Please note that the internal lighting base is not shown in this picture.
All our lamps are PAT (Portable Appliance Test) tested before sale to ensure that they are safe. We recommend the use of LED bulbs and many of our lamps come with a starter bulb. When it comes to shades there are so many to choose from to suit your colour scheme that we do not usually supply these with the lamp base. Please note that we do not recommend bulbs of more than 60w strength to be used due to the heat produced by traditional incandescent bulbs, however a higher wattage can be obtained if using an LED bulb. Please ask your supplier for more details of what might be suitable for your lamp.
The lamp base will be supplied with a 3-pin British plug fitted with a 3 amp fuse. Unless otherwise stated the lamp holder itself will have an on and off switch and the lead is supplied with a through switch to make the positioning and use of your lamp as easy as possible.
