THE OLD FOREST FOLK

Picture
As you may have heard - we're working with local author kate macey to produce a series of children's stories based in and around the forest the first of which we hope will to be available in 2019.
below is a set of primary illustrations to give you a taste of what you might expect.
growing up i was a huge fan of the brambly hedge books about a hedgerow of mice having adventures.
the new forest is such a special place and loved by so many people that i wanted my figures to be able to bring its magic to all.
the little folk have magical powers and are responsible for the day to day running of the forest and looking after the trees, plants and animals.
i use photos that i have taken around the forest and then make them into the illustrations that you can see to try and bring the stories to life. they are real scenes and real figures.
we are hoping to bring joy and enlightenment to all exploring the changes in the seasons, hibernation, the working of the rivers, the sounds of nature and all of the animals and creatures that call the forest their home.
